Meghmallar, a joint production of Bengal Creations and the Government of Bangladesh, was presented with 3 awards at the Bangladesh National Film Awards 2014; in recognition for its outstanding contributions to the Bangladesh film industry.

The film was awarded with the Best Director, Best Sound and Best Child Actress Award, out of a total of 26 categories.

Directed by Zahidur Rahim Anjan and written by Akhteruzzaman Elias; Meghmallar is a film portraying the sacrifice and endurance of the ordinary people during the 1971 Liberation War. The story revolves around the fears, despair, courage and hopes of a middle class family.

The film premiered at Bashundhara Star Cineplex in 2014 and was shown at all major theatres in Dhaka. Meghmallar was also screened in the ‘Discovery’ section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
