Promotesh Das Pulak
Promotesh Das Pulak was born in Sylhet in 1980. He studied drawing and painting at the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, receiving his BFA and MFA, consecutively in 2002 and 2004. He is participating in Parables: Pavilion of Bangladesh, 54th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, 2011. His major exhibitions include VideozBangladesh, Sala 1, Rome, Italy, 2010. In 2010, he also exhibited at Shilpakala Academy in the 17th Young Artists’ Exhibition and at Suhrawardi Udyan in Dhaka for Robi Bangladesh Mela; Other group shows include 11th Contemporary Young Artist’s Exhibition, Chuwa Gallery, Tokyo in 2009; Raku at Zainul Gallery, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, by Britto Arts Trust and University of Dhaka and 13th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Dhaka in 2009; Contemporary Art Exhibition, Kawasaki City Museum, Japan, 2007, Group Show at Dots Gallery, Dhaka in 2006. He received a fellowship for drawing by the Artist Aminul Islam Trust, Bangladesh in 2006. His participation in workshops initiated by Britto Arts Trust were Book making Workshop and Britto International Artists’ Workshop, Sonargaon, Narayanganj in 2010, Extended Vision and Across the Street, 3rd and 4th video art workshop, Dhaka in 2008 and 2009 subsequently, and Raku Workshop in 2009. Pulak is a member of Britto Arts Trust.
