Wounds

Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Cultural Center, High Commission of India, Dhaka, and Akar Prakar Gallery, Kolkata, hosted a ten-day prints exhibition of distinguished Indian artist Somnath Hore (1921-2006), titled ‘Wounds’, with the inauguration on 25 November 2011, Friday, at 5.30 p.m. at Bengal Shilpalaya. The exhibition will be inaugurated by eminent artist Murtaja Baseer. Mr. Sanjay Bhattacharyya, Acting High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, was present as the Chief Guest. Mr. Matiur Rahman, Editor of the daily Prothom Alo, and noted Indian art critic Mr. Pranabranjan Ray, were present as Special Guests. Ms. Chandana Hore, daughter of artist Somnath Hore, and curator of the exhibition, was present at the inaugural ceremony.
