Nasreen Begum is on an imaginative sojourn, exploring her path with a profound sense of loneliness and isolation. Specializing in the oriental style of painting, Nasreen introduces us to a world of muted colours and simple forms that resonate with an intense sense of self-exploration. Fallen leaves, doors opening to newer horizons, life in disarray, marine organisms- these images recur in her work.
After completing her BFA in Oriental Art from the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka, Nasreen (b. 1956, Chuadanga) she received an MFA in printmaking from the M S University in Baroda, India. Nasreen was awarded an Honurable Mention in the National Miniature Art Exhibition at Gallery Tone (1983). Her works have been widely exhibited. Nasreen is a member of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
