Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts hosted a solo retrospective exhibition of artist Nurul Islam titled The Enchantment of the Transcendental with the inaugural ceremony on 7 June 2008 at 6 pm at Bengal Shilpalaya.

Eminent writer Hasnat Abdul Hye was present as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the exhibition while renowned architect Shamsul Wares was present as the special guest.
