Serenade of Rain

Kazi Ghiyas’ watercolours have a timeless serenity that rarely fails to overwhelm. His masterful application of fine layers and the transluscence that emanates from subtle tones takes viewers on a unique journey of gentle introspection.
Kazi Ghiyas (b. 1951, Madaripur) graduated from the Government College of Arts and Crafts in 1970 and did an MFA from Chittagong University in 1972. He was the first Bangladeshi to receive a doctoral degree in fine arts from the National Fine Arts University of Tokyo in 1985. Ghiyas is a freelance painter and lives in Tokyo.
