Artist Rafiqun Nabi’s unique approach and use of colours as well as his skillful drawing have charted a new path in the world of fine arts in Bangladesh. His works reflect the hopes and aspirations of the common man and reveals the pain and grief of the country’s tormented soul. Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts has organized a retrospective exhibition of artist Rafiqun Nabi titled Quest for Reality on the occasion of his 70th birth anniversary, on Saturday 7 December 2013 at 5.30 pm at Bengal Shilpalaya. The exhibition is being organized with selected works of the artist spanning five decades. Most of the displayed works are from private collections which narrate his creative sojourn. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Begum Jahanara Abedin. Artist Qayyum Chowdhury, Mr. Matiur Rahman, Editor of Daily Prothom Alo, and art collector Syed Durjoy Rahman Joy will be present as Special Guests. The exhibition will be open from from 12 pm to 8 pm, from 7 December till 19 December 2013.
