One Hundred Temples

The remote and rural expanses of Bangladesh hold countless examples of the ancient architecture of Bengal. Babu Ahmed captures the decay and neglect that surrounds elegant edifices such as temples, maths and other votive structures. Stressing a serious call for conservation, the photographer has painstakingly documented one hundred ancient temples.
A freelance photographer, Babu (b. 1967) has had successful stints in national dailies and periodicals. His work has been widely published. The photographs in the exhibition ‘One Hundred Temples’ appear in a book under the same title published by the UN.
