Off the Beaten Path
The exhibition organised by Britto Arts Trust represented 19 South Asian artists from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The show was designed to integrate the exchange and interaction formed in the South Asian region over the last few years and to curate a show with selected artists who have worked with Britto and traveled in the regional networks. Spread over three venues, the part of the show at Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts displayed the works of Ahmed Nazir, Amirul Rajib, Abu Naser Robii, Imran Hossain Piplu, Kabir Ahmed Masum Chisty, Shishir Bhattacharjee and Roohi Shafiq Ahmed (Pakistan). The works of Alak Roy, Anura Krishantha (Sri Lanka), Sujan Chitrakar (Nepal), Susanta Mandal (India), Tayeba Begum Lipi and Waseem Ahmed (Pakistan) were concurrently shown in Gallery Kaya. The part of the show in the Drik Gallery featured the works of Thisath Thoradeniya (Sri Lanka), Mahbubur Rahman, Niloofar Chaman, Nisar Hossain, Paula Sengupta (India) and Sunil Sigdel (Nepal).
