The War of Liberation is the pride of the Bengali nation. This epic war established us as a self-respecting nation in the world. On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Liberation War and our victory, Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts had organized a ten-day group exhibition of 40 prominent artists of Bangladesh. The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition, ’40 – Of Struggle and Creativity’, was held on 25 December 2011, at 5 pm at Bengal Shilpalaya. The exhibition was inaugurated by valiant freedom fighter Belal Mohammad, one of the organisers of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro during the Liberation War in 1971. Dr. Sarwar Ali, Trustee, Liberation War Museum, and Freedom Fighter, and Mr. Mijarul Quayes, noted art critic, were present as special guests.
