Fokhrul’s pictorial imagery includes numerous dots in variegated shades of grey and black. His work also imparts an illusory sense of touch. Works in oil on paper were displayed in the exhibition.
Born in Dhaka in 1964, Fokhrul completed his BFA from the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, in 1990. He studied in Beijing for two years under a Chinese government scholarship. His works have been exhibited widely in many countries. He won the first prize at the Artists Support Competition organized by Gallery Goho, Japan. In 2010 he availed an Art Residency in the Cite Internationale des Arts, in Paris. Fokhrul is a freelance artist, living in Dhaka.
