Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts hosted a ten-day solo exhibition of artist Mustafa Zaman titled, “Mind Out of Time” the inaugural ceremony was held on 8 March 2009, Sunday, at 6 p.m. at Bengal Shilpalaya. Poet and writer Farhad Mazhar was present as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the exhibition. Artist Rokeya Sultana was present as a special guest.

To lay bare the social and political realities of his time, Mustafa Zaman constructs a world stilted on satire- one that apparently runs parallel to the actual world. He explores the domain of the meta-consciousness and employs to their service a flurry of elements drawn from both traditions- modernism and postmodernism, to provide spiritual, and at times, concrete interpolation of reality.
Zaman (b. 1968) graduated in printmaking from the Institute of Fine Art in 1988. He received a honourary diploma from Poland in 1992 and took part in a Britto residency in 2004. Zaman is the editor of the distinguished art magazine De-part and a freelance artist.

শিল্পী মোস্তফা জামান ২০০৩ সালে বৃত্ত আর্ট ট্রাস্টের রেসিডেন্সি পরবর্তী প্রদর্শনীর মাধ্যমে বেঙ্গল গ্যালারিতে ভাষা ও দৃষ্টিগ্রাহ্য জগতের ব্যঙ্গরসাত্নক সম্পর্ক-নির্ভর শিল্প নিয়ে উপস্থিত হন। যদিও ঢাকা চারুকলা ইনস্টিটিউটের ছাপচিত্র বিভাগ থেকে তিনি স্নাতক ডিগ্রি লাভ করেছেন, তথাপি ক্রমে নব সৃষ্টির প্রত্যাশায় নানান মিশ্র শিল্পভাষা চর্চায় ব্রতী হন। তাঁর প্রথম একক প্রদর্শনীতে শিল্পী ভাষার সূত্রে চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানে ব্যবহৃত আলোকচিত্রের বিপ্রতীপ চরিত্র ফুটিয়ে তুলে সমাজ-সমালোচনামূলক ভাষ্য তৈরি করেছিলেন। বর্তমান প্রদর্শনীতে নানাবিধ চিত্রকল্পের সমারোহ ঘটিয়ে অঙ্কন-নির্ভর জগতে ফিরে এসেছেন।
