Artist Syed Jahangir is a prominent figure in the domain of art in Bangladesh through his enthusiastic commitment to and practice of it. His art gives life to the hopes and aspirations that reside in the hearts of our people. His use of colors, style, his connections to his roots, as well as his empathy for the people make him an artist nonpareil. Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts was honored to celebrate the artist’s 80th birth anniversary on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 5:30 pm at its premises. A twelve day- long exhibition of his paintings titled Of Man and Earth had been arranged from November 2. The exhibition was inaugurated by his peer, and artist Murtaja Baseer, artist Qayyum Chowdhury and former Finance Minister Mr. M. Syeduzzaman. Family, friends and well-wishers were welcome to attend and wish the artist a creative, happy and rewarding life.
