A theatre activist, drama teacher, set designer and director of repute, Kabir has invested time and effort in documenting stage performances both in the city and in the villages. His aim was to fill the vacuum in archives and documentation of the wide variety of theatre practice in the country. Kabir focuses on the totality of the performance and takes in the whole ambience of the stage and captures the drama, the dynamism and depth of a particular moment.
Kamaluddin Kabir was born in 1965 in Patharghata, Barisal. He has an MA in drama and dramatics from the Jahangirnagar University. He has directed and designed the set for a number of significant plays. Kabir heads a theatre platform called Janmasutra.
