Britto Residency Programme

The Britto Residency Programme aims at developing contacts between artists and organisations while promoting an inclusive approach to the diversity of international art. Three artists from different parts of the world worked together in Dhaka for two months. They had clear differences in terms of approach but their common aim to exhibit together made it easier for them to arrive at a shared artistic platform.
Fernando Palma Rodriguez of Mexico with his strong Aztec heritage and sound technical background pieced together tiny machines for his robotic sculptures. Fred Musaazi of Uganda brought African styled wooden sculpture into the composition. Mustafa Zaman’s installation centred on ‘fiction’, a parody of sorts on history.
