Boundless Horizons
Mokhlesur Rahman’s work celebrates the carnival of nature in its inherent drama and music. He absorbs the elegant opulence of nature and depicts themes of the night-time, dawn, forests and fauna, in woodcut prints. Mokhlesur Rahman (b. 1961) graduated in fine arts from the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka, in 1984. He won acclaim in 2001 when he was awarded the Grand Prize in the 10th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh. His works have been widely exhibited.
A founding member of Charupith Centre for Art Research in Jessore, Mokhlesur Rahman is also the publisher of leading art journal Shilparup.
