Bangladesh is in his heart
Shamsur Rahman (1929-2006) is acknowledged as one of the greatest Bengali poets of all times. M A Taher (b. 1962, Dhaka) was close to the poet and was thus able to chronicle rare moments of his life. The show presented memorable images of the great poet, linking him to the spirit of liberalism that he cherished highly.
A graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, Taher is an accomplished photographer and writer. His work has been widely exhibited. He received the Honourable Mention Award from Bangladesh Photographic Society (1999), the 23rd Seiko International Award (1993), Certificate of Merit from the Young Buddhists Association of Thailand (1992), Best Photographer of the Month BPS Award (1991-92) and other photography awards in the US (1994-96).
