ALLUVIAL FACES
Elements in Kalidas’ work and the nuances they construct take us back to time immemorial and rouse passions that are innate, yet indescribable. Kalidas is essentially an artist of primordial passions. At the same time, he is a modern artist- tremendously vital, versatile, familiar with current trends and techniques. Kalidas is perhaps one of the most widely exhibited artists of Bangladesh. Along with numerous solo and group shows, he is also involved in the presentation of Performance Art and Environment Art. Most important among his international honours and awards are his position as a judge in the First Islamic World Contemporary Art Biennale in Tehran (2000), two purchase awards in the International Art Exhibition in Osaka (1996), two purchase awards by the Fukuoka Museum in the 2nd Asian Art Show (1985), Best Award in Graphic Art in the Biennale de la Gravure in Sarcelles (1984), France, and in the Crous International Art Exhibition, Paris (1984) and 5 successive awards by the Asia Pacific Museum in Warsaw, Poland.
