Alka Mathur and Naresh Kapuria

The exhibition was a collaboration between two Indian artists. Alka’s collages were rife with imagery offset by the methodical orchestration of distinctively abstract lines, texture and tones. Naresh Kapuria discovered ‘art in the most humdrum situations’. Together they created an interesting array of collages, paintings and installations.
Alka Mathur (b. 1956) graduated from the Sir J J School of Art in Mumbai in 1979. She has travelled widely and interacted with artists in Beirut, Paris and Dhaka.
Naresh Kapuria (b. 1953) joined the Triveni Kala Sangam Art Department in 1970. His works have been exhibited in many countries of the world. Naresh received an award in the VII International Triennial in Delhi.
