Abaran: Textile Traditions of Bangladesh

Abaran was organised by the Bangladesh Jatiya Karushilpa Parishad (National Crafts Council of Bangladesh) to mark the conference of the Asia Pacific Region of the World Crafts Council. The exhibition was designed to reflect the evolution and growth of textiles in the region. Both contemporary and traditional styles were showcased to represent the creativity of traditional weavers. Items on display included Nakshi Kantha, Jamdani, jute and ethnic textiles, traditional and modern apparels as well as common household linen and fashion accessories.
