The WCC Award of Excellence for Handicrafts 2024 (WCC-AOE) is the flagship program of the World Crafts Council AISBL. The final evaluation, held in May 2024 in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, celebrated the outstanding craftsmanship of artisans from across the six sub-regions of the WCC-Asia Pacific Region. From 160 submitted products, an expert panel of international jurors selected 87 exceptional items to receive the prestigious Award of Excellence for 2024. Each product was rigorously assessed based on four key criteria: Excellence, Authenticity, Innovation, and Marketability, with a strong emphasis on Environmental and Social Responsibility. The jurors commended the awardees for meeting these high standards while preserving cultural heritage and embracing innovative approaches.
The WCC-AOE is more than an award—it is a platform to inspire artisans and producers to continue their creative journeys while expanding market opportunities for their unique crafts.

The winners of WCC Award of Excellence for Handicrafts 2024 from Bangladesh, are:

1). Mr. Md. Aminul Islam (Nakshi Kantha)
2). Ms. Silmat Chisti (Nobo) and Mr. Md Bilal Farazi (Jamdani weaver)
3). Ms. Tamara Abed (Aarong) and Mr. Md. Billal Uddin (woodwork artisan, Aarong)

ওয়ার্ল্ড ক্রাফটস কাউন্সিল এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক রিজিয়ন প্রবর্তিত ‘অ্যাওয়ার্ড অব এক্সেলেন্স ফর হ্যান্ডিক্রাফটস’-এর ২০২৪ সালের পুরস্কার প্রদান অনুষ্ঠানে সনদ বিতরণ করবেন ইউনেস্কোর বাংলাদেশ প্রতিনিধি এবং প্রধান কর্মকর্তা ড. সুজান ভাইজ। অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন বিশিষ্ট লেখক ও কারুশিল্প বিশেষজ্ঞ ড. নিয়াজ জামান।
