Bengal Foundation organised the sixth event in a regular series of Lecture and Demonstration programmes ‘Understanding Dance with Sharmila Banerjee’ on August 25th at 7 PM.

Over the span of two months, Sharmila Banerjee introduced us to the enormous variety of Tribal and Folk Dances in Bangladesh. The programme featured rarely seen audio-visual material as well as live performances of both authentic and stylised versions of the dance-forms under discussion. This episode explored Raibenshe, Pata Nach, Chhau, Jum, to name a few.

The programme was free and open to all.
