ROKEYA SULTANA: Exhibition of works by the artist Rokeya Sultana and book launch
ICCR, India, and Bengal Foundation, Bangladesh, have collaborated to jointly organise a retrospective travelling exhibition of works by artist Rokeya Sultana in the three cities—New Delhi, Kolkata and Dhaka—accompanied by the launch of her monograph ‘Rokeya Sultana’(pub. 2020).
The exhibition will be an important milestone in India-Bangladesh relations, especially in the context of 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence.
The first phase of the exhibition is taking place on New Delhi from 6 June onwards. Hon’bl Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture Govt. of India Ms. Meenakashi Lekhi, MP was the chief guest of the exhibition and book launch event. Event Details are given below:

Rokeya Sultana is a retrospective show, circumscribing the historical narrative and feminist perspective in the artist’s work. The show is multidisciplinary and includs paintings, prints, animation videos, pieces of sculpture, memorabilia, photographs etc. The majority of the works are from the artist’s collection. The rest are from the Bengal Foundation Collection, and private collections of Zareen Mahmud Hossain, Abul Khair, and Asfar Khair.
