Performance Art Week 2016 attempted to have a comprehensive look on the role of performance art in contemporary Bangladesh. We investigated the multiple complexities of this ephemeral medium through discussions, performances and exhibitions.

The event aimed to find out nuances of Performance Art by exploring answers of such questions:

• What role does it play in the political and cultural activism as opposed to white-cube space?
• How do artists materialise the non-material art?
• How does this medium contribute to the evolution of new languages?

We called on performance artists to apply with the following:
