Kali O Kalam, the longest-running and presently the most critically acclaimed Bengali literary journal in the world, has been honouring young authors and poets since the year of 2008; in an attempt to encourage the practice of Bengali literature.  Talented authors, chosen from five different categories, was honoured with an award recognising their accomplishments and a prize money of taka one lakh each.

Kali O Kalam Young Poets and Writers Award 2015 was held on Friday, 5:30 PM, 29 January 2016, at the Main Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum. The event was inaugurated by the chairman of the editorial board of Kali O Kalam, Professor Emeritus Dr. Anisuzzaman. Noted writers Selina Hossain and Sankarlal Bhattacharya also spoke on the occasion. The evening was concluded with a musical performance by Shama Rahman and poetry recitations by Hassan Arif.
