JAMDANI FESTIVAL 2019
National Crafts Council of Bangladesh and Bengal Foundation are pleased to invite you to the Jamdani Festival, a celebration of the proud heritage of Jamdani weaving in Bangladesh, which demonstrates the outstanding skill and artistic finesse of present-day weavers.
The Jamdani Festival will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister for Education Dr Dipu Moni at 5 PM, on 6 September 2019, at Bengal Shilpalay, Dhanmondi. The Hon’ble Minister of State for Cultural Affairs Mr K M Khalid, Mayor of Narayanganj Dr Selina Hayat Ivy and the President of the World Crafts Council Asia-Pacific Region Dr Ghada Hijjawi-Qaddumi will be present on the occasion as special guests. The President of the National Crafts Council of Bangladesh Mr Rafiqul Islam will chair the inaugural ceremony. The Mastercraftspersons Award ceremony will also be held on the same day to honour the most gifted master weaver and apprentice for their skills and contributions to the community.
