Hyphenated Existence revolves around the concept of relationships – how as a human being, living at a tumultuous time when connectedness is being challenged at every step of our lives, we still cannot live without making links. Through my work I would like to address this magic of existence – whereupon each individual exists as if he were a word in a sentence. The hyphen is a symbol of the continuity of life – the assurance of living in a chain of relationships.

Even objects or pieces of clothing have a life of their own – as they are valued not only for their utility but for the relationship we develop with them. The idea of co-existence thus develops into a relational web through which life’s irony, loss, happiness and the desire to transcend physical limits, find their expressions.
