Rethinking Architectural Education

RETHINKING ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION
[A SYMPOSIUM]
Organised by BRAC University, Architecture Department, and Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements; on April 6, 2017, 14:30 – 19:00 at BRAC University Auditorium, 66 Mohakhali, Dhaka (Map).

Architects, academics, and leading figures from various disciplines joined to discuss the state and futures of architectural education.

‘Architecture is more than a discipline, it is part of our “lived experience.” If architecture is an art, it is an existential art, that is, architecture is an organic part of society, of our existences. On the other hand, architecture is increasingly an instrument of global, economic and technological practices. How then to prepare a student of architecture?’

Symposium  explored the following themes:
“ARCHITECTURE AND COMMUNITY: RETHINKING THE CURRICULUM,”
” ARCHITECTURE AND THE WORLD: RETHINKING RELATIONSHIPS,” and a Roundtable.

Keynote presentations by: Fuad Hassan Mallick and  Kazi Khaleed Ashraf
