Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, University of Dhaka jointly presented a jazz concert which was held at Nat-mandal auditorium, University of Dhaka. The Honourable Vice-Chancellor of University of Dhaka, Profressor Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddique & Ambassador, Kingdom of the Netherlands, H. E. Gerben Sjoerd de Jong graced the event with their presence. 

Performers of the evening were:
Duo Laroo/Byrd (The Netherlands/The United States of America)
World-renowned trumpeter Saskia Laroo and international pianist/vocalist Warren Byrd together create a smorgasbord of music for a wide palette of occasions from the grand gala-fest to the intimate hang.
Saskia Laroo has produced six CD’s varying from classic jazz to Club-influenced acid jazz fusion. She has performed worldwide in hundreds of venues with her own groups in more than twenty countries throughout six continents. Hailing from Hartford, Connecticut; Warren Byrd is a pianist/vocalist with a long list of international credits, tours, and celebrated work. Whether performing dance classics, the American songbook, hot afro-Latin grooves, or their own catchy, poignant originals this unique two can manifest as a soothing background pad, a party-rousing tandem, or a grand showpiece. Laroo and Byrd can unleash their potent charm anywhere anytime. At an opportune request, Saskia and Warren can transmute from state of the art duo into full band.
Labik Kamal Gaurob (Bangladesh)
Labik Kamal Gaurob is a well known Vocalist/ Songwriter of Bangladeshi Band “AJOB”. Gaurob  has recently finished a degree in Sound Engineering at SAE London. He has collaborated with artists like Zoe Rahman, Paban Das Baul, Kishon Khan (LokkhiTerra), Sam Mills, Idris Rahman & Arnob. He is inspired by the likes of Lalon Fakir, Rabindranath Tagore, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Sam /Susheela, Paban Das Baul, Rob Fakir, Mekaal Hasan Band, Arnob & Buno. He has performed in venues like South Bank centre, Barbican, Logan Hall in London etc. Gaurob will be performing in Khomok (percussion) & Vocals in this event.
