To promote the practice and custom of classical music in Bangladesh, Bengal Foundation had organised an evening of classical music performance ‘Mayar Madhuri’, on Tuesday, 20th January 2015. The recital began with a khayal performance by Priyanka Gope followed by dhrupad sangeet by Pandit Uday Bhawalkar. Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, accompanied by Pandit Suresh Talwalkar on the tabla, took the stage for the final performance of the evening.

Bengal Foundation also took this opportunity to celebrate the 60th birthday of Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Principal Guru of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay (BPS).

The event commenced at 6 pm at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Complex auditorium, Krishi Khamar Road, Farmgate in Dhaka. Mayer Madhuri was free and open to all.
