Noted academician, essayist Dr Anisuzzaman was named for this year’s Padma Bhushan award, India’s third highest civilian honour. He was chosen for his ‘distinguished service of high order’ in the field of Bangla literature and education and is among the 25 people who are selected for this year’s Padma Bhushan.
Dr. Anisuzzaman is Professor Emeritus of Dhaka University. He is the Chairman of Bangla Academy. He is a Trustee of the Bengal Foundation and the Chairman of the editorial board of literary magazine Kali O Kalam.
