Quamrul Hassan (1921-1988) and Mizanur Rahman (1931-2006) were close associates. When Rahman became editor and publisher of the acclaimed Mizanur Rahmaner Patrika, he commissioned his friend Quamrul to do drawings and illustrations for the magazine. Assembled over the years, the numerous pen and ink drawings and oils formed the body of Rahman’s collection. The exhibition, ‘Quamrul Hassan in Line and Colour’ was a testimony to Rahman and Quamrul’s enduring friendship.
