Nurtured by local crafts outlet Jatra, Md. Shamim Reza (b. 1975) used his talents to transform waste fabric into works of art. Jatra’s ‘Art for Development’ project involved 80 women from a village in Barisal, who worked under Reza’s supervision to create a diverse range of products. Reza has a master degree in crafts from the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka.
