Setting aside his limitations brought on by autism, Aadil Hoque has painstakingly discovered a pleasing personal world of colours and shapes. According to Aadil’s mother Dr. Leedy Hoque, ‘Aadil, his art and ancient Egypt are inextricably intertwined. It was his fascination with ancient Egypt since the age of seven, combined with the intensive stimulation received from his teachers…in the UK…….that he learned to speak communicatively, read, write and draw’.
Aadil Hoque was born in 1989 in Bristol, UK. He developed a penchant for Egyptian art early in life. In 2003 he received a Gold Medal for his watercolour (‘Golden Cleopatra’) in an international art competition called ‘Egypt in the Eyes of the World’s Children’ organised by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. Aadil has participated in a number of solo and group shows.
