Peace and Harmony

Kazi Ghiyasuddin (b. 1951, Madaripur) graduated from the Government College of Arts and Crafts in 1970 and did an MFA from Chittagong University in 1972. He was the first Bangladeshi to receive a doctoral degree in fine arts from the National Fine Arts University of Tokyo in 1985. His masterful oils and watercolours have earned him a special place in the realm of Japanese contemporary art. In Peace and Harmony, he showcased a series of finely textured oils and watercolours.
Ghiyas’ works are distinctive for their subtlety and a somewhat subdued, almost dispassionate, execution of the creative urge within. The details of his work, fleshed out in a flat two dimensional space, create a sense of depth.
