Francisco Goya
Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts, the Spanish Embassy in Bangladesh and the Inditex Chair of Spanish Language and Culture, University of Dhaka, were pleased to present a selection of engravings from the collection of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes of San Fernando, by the world renowned Spanish artist Francisco Goya (1746-1828). The Chief Guest, Dr. Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir, the honourable Home Minister of the Government of Bangladesh inaugurated the show and with it, the newly renovated premises of the Bengal Gallery, on Tuesday, 9 October 2012, at 6 pm. Mr. Mijarul Quayes, the Foreign Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh, was present as the Special Guest. H. E. Mr. Luis Tejada Chacon, the Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh was the Guest of Honour. The inaugural function was addressed by Mr. Antonio Abril, General Counsel of Inditex, and Mr. Abul Khair, Chairman of Bengal Foundation.
