A freedom-fighter and internationally celebrated artist, Shahabuddin Ahmed is back in his homeland with a selection of recent works that bear testimony to a robust life-affirming worldview and his relentless effort to transcend himself through an unremitting quest for new artistic forms. The vernissage of an exhibition featuring these works, was organised by the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts under the title, ‘Jai Bangla’.
The exhibition was inaugurated at 6 pm on Sunday, 27 September by the legendary film personality and social worker, Shabana Azmi. The occasion will be graced by the presence of the Honourable Minister for Finance of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhit, as the Chief Guest, and the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Charley Causeret, as the Special Guest.

শাহাবুদ্দিনের হৃদয়ে মুক্তিযুদ্ধ নিরন্তর সৃজনের বীজ রোপিত করে দিয়ে যায়। কতভাবেই না তিনি ক্যানভাসে মুক্তিযুদ্ধকে অবলম্বন করে ছবি আঁকেন! রং-তুলির শিক্ষার্থী হিসেবে চিত্রবিদ্যার ভুবন থেকে তিনি চলে গিয়েছিলেন রণাঙ্গনে।
