The exhibition was organised by Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts, in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural
Research and High Commission of India in Bangladesh Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts.
The artists represented in this exhibition include some of the leading figures of contemporary Indian art. The
artists share the important distinction of belonging to East Bengal and being most directly affected by the events
before and after the Partition.
Participants: Paritosh Sen (b. 1918, Dhaka- d. 2008, Kolkata) , Amitabh Banerjee (b. 1928, Sandwip,
Chittagong), Bijan Chowdhury (b. 1931, Faridpur), Ganesh Haloi (b. 1936, Jamalpur), Suhas Roy (b. 1936,
Narsingdi), Dhiraj Choudhury (b. 1936, Brahmanbaria), Jogen Chowdhury (b. 1939, Gopalganj).
