River and the Flow of Life

Mona’s work, focusing on human relationship or private moments of an individual, creates its own contextual complexity while showing her preoccupation with time, flux and the environment. The staple of the exhibition was in chalk pastel although there was a varied mix of etchings, mixed media and oils.
Mona (b. 1967) obtained a BVA in Painting from the Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata in 1993. After a short stint at Visva Bharati at Santiniketan, Mona went on to receive a Post graduate diploma in Advanced Painting from St. Martin’s College of Fine Arts in London (1996). She is freelance artist living in Dhaka.
