Prakash Waghmare was born in Roha in 1966.
In 1990 he received his degree in Bachelor of Fine Art from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai.
Prakash has had many solo exhibitions:
In 1997 he exhibited at Gallery Jean along with Alliance Francoise de Bombay & Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2002, 2006 and 2013 he exhibited solo at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2008 he showcased solo at Ganesha Art Gallery, New Delhi.
He has taken part in many group exhibitions:
In 1991 he took part in the Monsoon Art show at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 1992 he participated in a group exhibition at Artists Centre, Mumbai. In 1992 and 1997 he took part in group shows at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. From 1993 – 2000 he took part in various group exhibitions in Mumbai. In 1996 he took part in the 6th Biennale at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. From 1997 – 1999 he participated in The Harmony Show at Nehru Centre, Mumbai. In 1997 he took part in ‘50 Years of Art in Mumbai 1947 – 1997’ at NGMA, Mumbai. In 2000 he took part in Mumbai Magazine Show at NGMA, Mumbai. In 2000 he participated in the Kala Ghoda Festival at NGMA, Mumbai. In 2001 he participated in a group show at NGMA, Mumbai. In 2003 he took part in a group show at India Habitat Center, New Delhi. In 2003 he participated in Art for Heart’s Sake at Jehagir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2004 Prakash had a solo exhibition at Gallery 7. In 2013 – 2016 Prakash took part in a group exhibitions: Art For A Cause; Silent Windows; Spoken & Unspoken; Meher – Art with a Heart; Silent Windows II; Meher II – Art with a Heart; Art For A Cause II and Painting Dreams, Coloring Lives at Gallery 7, Kalaghoda in Mumbai. From 2005 – 2010 he participated in various group exhibitions in Mumbai, New Delhi, New York, Kolkata, Edinburgh, California and Paris. In 2010 he exhibited in a group celebrating 20 years of Art at Gallery Sanskriti, Kolktata.
In 1989 he received the Camlin award from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. In 1993 he received the Bombay Art Society award in Mumbai.
He lives and works in Mumbai.
