We are deeply saddened by the news of Fayza Haq’s passing. We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family of the bereaved. Haq was very close to Bengal Foundation and had written extensively on Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts, since its inception in 2000.
Fayza Haq was a distinguished art critic, journalist and teacher. She began working at The Daily Sun (Pakistan) while simultaneously serving as teacher at Karachi University in 1970. Haq eventually decided to pursue a career in journalism over the years and has worked for The Morning News (Pakistan), The Bangladesh Observer and The Bangladesh Times, before joining The Daily Star since its inception. Her writings included features stories on fine arts, classical music, dance and book reviews during her long career.
Fayza Haq passed away at her Dhanmondi residence on 7 July 2017, aged 62.
