Launching Ceremony of Great Masters of Bangladesh: Zainul Abedin

Marking the birth centenary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin (1914-76), the Bengal Foundation along with SKIRA Editore, one of the most renowned international publication  houses based  in Milam, have co-published Great Masters of Bangladesh: Zainul Abedin, a comprehensive publication exploring the creative evolution of the artist. Mr Md Abul Hamid, Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, appearing as the Chief Guest at the event, announced the launch of Great Masters of Bangladesh: Zainul Abedin and inaugurated the Bengal Foundation’s year-long programme to celebrate the artist’s birth centenary, on Sunday, 6 October 2013, at 4 pm, at Utshab Hall at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka. Mr Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Hon’ble Finance Minister of the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, HE Mr William Hanna, Ambassador of the European Union to Bangladesh, and Begum Jahanara Abedin were present at the event as Special Guests. Eminent artist Mr Qayyum Chowdhury presided over the function. The guests were welcomed with a speech by the Chairman of Bengal Foundation, Mr Abul Khair. The event was concluded with a speech by the Director General of Bengal Foundation, Ms Luva Nahid Choudhury.
